Omega-3s for the Heart

Including fatty fish in your diet on a regular basis could protect you from a fatal heart attack, according to a study from Tufts University. The researchers analyzed 19 studies that included 45,637 people. Of those people, 7,973 suffered a first heart attack over time, which resulted in 2,781 deaths. Results showed that plant-based diets and diets that included omega-3-rich seafood, such as salmon, anchovies, sardines, and herring, were associated with roughly a 10% lower risk of fatal heart attacks.
